October 1 10:40 AM

Wow, I cannot believe that Oct. is already here, time flies even when you're not having fun.  I don't have a lot of news this morning.  Micah has been taken off of the antibiotics as his blood cultures being clear was finalized and the surgeon has cleared him for take off.  So, now we wait again to see when exactly we will leave.  It could be as early as tomorrow or maybe not until Monday, I have to wait to see what the case manager says and she is off today.  If today, Thomas will be taking off tomorrow to make the 5 hr. trek to St. Louis.  Micah will be going via ambulance and one of can ride with him.
Thomas is bringing the kids (all of them) up here to see me (I'm very excited) & Micah today so be praying that that goes well as Matthew & Daniel have not yet seen Micah and it may be difficult for them to understand why their big brother cannot talk to them or play with them.
We still don't know where we will be staying in St. Louis but are trusting God to provide the perfect solution for that.  We will be going to Ranken Jordan, I don't have the address with me but I'm sure if you need it you can find it on their web-site or I can send it to you once we get there.  So depending on what happens the next day or so I will probably have a day where I may not be able to give you an update.

Well, I just got interrupted by a phone call and if the hospital has a bed open for Micah we will be headed to St. Louis by 10 AM tomorrow morning, wow that was fast and our heads are whirling!  Okay I have to get off of here and think for a minute and start getting all my stuff together.  I'll try to get back on here this evening and let you know how things transpire today.
Love you all, thanks for sticking with us through this.
Blessings,
Tina

  2. Tina, I watched the videos on the Rankin Jordan website. It looks like such a wonderful and positive place! I get the sense that they will be very supportive to getting Micah back into the loving arms of his family and will be creative in utilizing your giftedness as a family. I pray that they will honor your faith in God and that this will be a beautiful tool in God's hands. I am glad that you are going there soon but I know that it feels a little like a whirlwind! I am praying for all the kids' visit today! Much love, Melanie

  6. Thomas and Tina,
I haven't posted yet, but I've been diligently reading and praying. I live Jackson and happen to know your coffee-providing doctor friend quite well (he's my brother). I have been looking on the Ranken Jordan website and I'm not sure if you've seen or heard about this, but I found this. http://www.rankenjordan.org/Home/NewsMedia/Newsroom/2009/HomewoodSuitesoffersfreeroomsforparents.aspx
I thought it might remedy your problem for accomodations.

  10. Hi Tina. Though I have not posted any comments thus far, I have read everyone of your blog entries. My children are also so very interested in knowing how Micah is doing. Sometimes, we get on the computer to read about him as a family. The reason I decided to comment today is your words..."thank you for sticking with us through this". Well, I want to say to you, thank you for sharing this incredibly difficult journey with us. You have NO IDEA how God has used you in my life...your words have been profound to my heart and to my personal journey. So, for you to say thank you to us is...well, amazingly gracious. To you and Thomas...thank you for allowing God to speak through you in these times. Please know that we, the Ingle family, are praying for Micah and you all as you walk this journey. We know that God is the God of miracles! Seeking Him with you, for you! Betsy Ingle

  11. Hi Thomas and Tina! Just read the good news of Micah's anticipated discharge from Vanderbilt tomorrow. You are now entering a new phase of his rehabilitation process with many prayers being lifted to the Father for continued favor on your lives. I am thrilled to hear that he will be going to a facility that will cater to his individual needs through a inter-disciplinary approach. It's a beautiful thing to watch everyone work together through all disciplines to achieve the ultimate goal of returning home and the community. I worked for many years as a Clincial Case Manager, and Robert a Physical Therapist, at a Neurological Rehabilitation Center much like the program that Micah will be entering. I want you to feel encouraged by the training and experience these folks have. They will be able to, in time, provide you with a road map on how best to serve not only Micah, but the entire family. Please know that we continue to have you in our hearts and prayers.

  13. Thomas and Tina,

As you move on to the next phase of your journey, may the Lord continue to uphold you with His amazing grace. I pray each day for God to show you more of Himself. Job says it best, "I have heard of Thee by the hearing of the ear; but now my eye see Thee." Know that you all are continually in our prayers. Thank you for keeping us posted.

    Love,
    Chris Veteto

  14. Thomas, Tina & Micah.... The news is great that you are going to rehab! I firmly believe that God will use this facility to complete his healing for Micah. I pray for you all to have a restful night, I pray for a comfortable journey tomorrow for Micah, and a safe journey for the rest of you as well. I pray that God provides JUST the accommodations you need.

As others have stated...than you for allowing us to witness your strength during this trying journey. You are never far from my thoughts and prayers. I share with others that you may never know the story of your strength and you amazing faith and trust in our Lord. So many people are praying for you. I'm not sure how God is able to hear prayers for others. God is on His throne, God knows what He is doing, and God's will I know will be done our good and His glory! You are amazing Christians.

    Rest well tonight.

    Lottie (JEA)
