October 5 1:00 PM

Hello friends,
Well, Micah slept from 4:30 pm yesterday until this morning very soundly.  That was his first good nights rest in I don't know how long.  When we got here this morning he was looking quite handsome and very rested and alert, also a little like a jack-o-lantern due to the lack of teeth.  As he doesn't have a chair yet that we can wheel him around in we rolled his whole bed out into the open area today where some of the therapists were doing a test checking for his responses to touch, smell, tickle, pain, command, eye tracking and light.  This is a test that they will frequently repeat.  He has done everything, to some degree, on the test, but hasn't yet done all of them at one time.  After that we rolled him over by the windows to get some sunshine and see the outdoors then we parked him in front of a big aquarium for a while and let him watch the fish swimming around.

Mr. T is getting read to head back to Jackson to see his kiddos before they move to St. Louis with me.  God is too good, Micah just got smiley right before time for his daddy to leave.  It's still hard for him to leave but at least he will get to go with smiles.  Love to all of you and many, many blessings.

  1. Hi Tina! I spent a long time looking at the R-J site and watching the videos. It looks like a marvelous place and I am imaging you and Micah right now and praying for you and for Thomas as he drives and for all the other Varughese kiddos.
You have done wonderfully well by God's grace and I am thankful along with you for all of His blessings. Be gentle with yourself in this new transition! It is a lot to absorb!

  2. Got a wonderful smile in a picture today! It was awesome to see Micah with a smile! We love Micah and the family! Still watching and praying for the miracle in progress!

SO happy about a wonderful place for micah; a "fish museum" (aaron's phrase) and everything. happy daddy got to leave on a smiley note...God is good; miss you dear tina. made lattes and wished i was sharing 1 with you :-)

  4. It is so encouraging to hear how God has and is working things out for all of you. We continue to pray along with so many others for a miracle and each new day brings so many blessings. Your faith encourages us all as well. What a MIGHTY God we serve. Love to all of you, what a Wonderful family you have. Jack and Barb Schulz in Georgia

  5. WOW!!! I've not been on the computer for a few days, and how God has worked during those days! From the wonderful time you all had together as a family, to the knowledge of a house, then the uneventful trip to St. Louis and now the smiling you are getting from Micah! God IS good! I just feel that this is only the next step to full recovery for Micah. I trust God will continue to heal him and that he will eventually say, let's go home to Jackson.

You both are still so inspiring. I share your story and your amazing Christian strength with anyone who will listen. I'm in awe of your faith and you've made me realize just "how" much I take God for granted.

May God continue to heal, to provide rest for all of you. May he reunite your family soon. I pray for traveling safety for Thomas as he travels back and forth from Jackson to St. Louis. How his heart must be torn in having to leave.

You are in my prayers! Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you all.

  6. Hi Tina, I see this place is very nice. We are praying for the family. You have God with you all the way. Your neighbors, Larry and Judy Pratt

  7. Thank you that in the midst of all you have to do that you continue to keep us updated on this very special journey that God has called you to. We are with you in prayer and will definitely pray that Micah will be able to stick his tongue out! We are indeed "fearfully and wonderfully made". Blessings to each of you. Ruth
