September 15th 1 PM

The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want,
He makes me to lie down in green pastures,
He leads me beside the still waters,
He restores my soul.

Our souls are tired and weary today, but we put our trust in God, the Author & the Finisher of everything.  I just wanted to let you know what I am telling Micah today so that you can pray with us.  There is a storm going on in his brain and I know that Jesus is in that storm trying to lead him out.  What I'm telling him is to keep looking for Jesus that he is there wanting to hold you and bring you out of this.

Blessings to you all.

  9. When sounds the world's threatening cry,

    And roaring of their thunder.

When you feel the heaving of your life,

    And see the foaming water.

Then from the midst of this swelling sea,

A voice so calm and clear.

Twas, "Peace be still," that reached my ear,

Calmed my heart, and allayed my fear.

Oh, words of a Savior that gave me Peace,

Though the world round me roar.

Safe in Him, my peace complete,

    There for evermore.

  16. Thomas & Tina...As always, each day I am uplifted by your strength and faith. The verse that comes to my mind at this time is one of my favorite...."And they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not grow weary; and they shall walk and not faint" Isaiah 40:31. God is renewing your strength and not only yours but all of those you come in contact with at the hospital and through this blog. You all are touching an enormous amount of people and I believe God is very well pleased with how you are handling this. May God bless you all and give you rest. May He continue to heal Micah's body and restore him whole again. God bless you. I'm still praying.

  17. Thomas and Tina:

Our prayers are with you this night. When we have a break during the day, we are thinking and praying for Micah and for the whole family; Maclin and Aaron are praying individually as well. Look at your regular email; my sister Joanna is praying for Micah and sent some encouraging news that I emailed you there.

    Love,

Julian, Sheila, Maclin, and Aaron Williamson

  19. Your struggles have touched our heart but it is your remarkable faith that has touched us more than you will ever realize. I hear conversations from a variety of individuals on a daily basis that marvel at the absolute faith in God you have demonstated.
It is understandable to be weary. Jesus was weary after being tempted in the wilderness and after overcoming the trials before Him, He was ministered to by angels before returning to begin his ministry. Take time for God to restore yor souls and allow His servants here on earth an opportunity to meet your physical needs.
You mention that our efforts lift you up, but it is you that encourages us to become closer to God and understand a relationship with Him that transends personal desires and enables a trust in Him that He will work all things for good. Already God is taking tragedy and working things for good to His purpose. Your life is a witness to many, an inspiration to us all. May God's love and kindness restore your souls as you journey beside Him and may He demonstrate His power through Micah that all things are possible in Him if we only believe with a child like faith. Our thoughts and prayers are contiuously with you. Sam

  21. Thomas and Tina,
I was praying with Lauren, and I often try to pray her prayers aloud. I mentioned Micah and she squealed with delight. I asked her, "Lauren, are you praying for Micah?" Very slowly and clearly she nodded her head, "Yes." I replied to her, "Keep praying, baby." She smiled her big smile in response.
We love you and continue to pray with you!

  23. Thomas and Tina, Sharon Sargent Pettit here.
Tina it was so good to see you. I am so thankful that we are always brothers and sisters in Christ. I am here in Nashville and anything you need please call me. I will be back to see Thomas. Micah is strong but God is stronger and we need to understand that God has a plan for Micah and that plan will be revealed in God's time, not ours. I am thankful he is at Vanderbilt because it is an excellent facilty. LOVE TO YOU AND ALL YOUR CHILDREN

May His strength and grace be upon you. love you. Shanti & family

  27. Hi Tina and Thomas, We have not stopped praying for Micah very frequently. I pray for him earnestly through the day and as I turn off the light by my bed there is a small wooden cross that dangles from the switch. I hold that cross in the darkness before I sleep and ask our Lord to draw Micah out into wholeness.

This morning Psalm 18 seemed to speak to me so much for you and for Micah. Here is some of it...

1-6 "I love Thee, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, My God, my rock in whom I take refuge; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies. The cords of death encompassed me. And the torrents of destruction terrified me. The cords of Sheol surrounded me; the snares of death confronted me. In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried to my God for help; He heard my voice out of His temple. And my cry for help before Him came into His ears."

I have prayed Tina's birthing image for Micah and these next verses remind me so much of that idea!

v.16 "He sent from on high, He took me; He drew me out of many waters."

We feel connected to you not only through dear Stephanie but from having your family in our home with us. (I still have to say it, minus Samuel and Lydia...)

May God give you His strength and peace this day as you stretch out your hands to be caught by Him and may Micah experience today the presence and healing power of the God of the whole universe.
